The new Tesla Model S Plaid looks to be the fastest car on the planet (as of July 2021). Fast enough to impress fast car enthusiasts at a Lamborghini dealership (via r/teslamotors Reddit.)
Florida dealer Lamborghini Broward is also selling the $2.9 million Bugatti Chiron. The Model S Plaid starts at $129,990.
However, according to Motor Trend and other reports, the Model S Plaid seems to outperform the Bugatti Chiron by 0-60 and a quarter mile.
This had a huge impact on the staff at the dealership.
Brooks Weisblat, who runs the Dragtimes YouTube channel, took his employees for a ride from the dealership in his new Plaid.
While the yoke was dazzling, the acceleration (6:30 mark) made the biggest impact. And their reaction at 8:00 says a lot.
“So, yes, all of that makes the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid the fastest production car we’ve ever tested – a tremendous achievement.” — Motor Trend, June 17, 2021
New Tesla vehicles tend to go viral on YouTube and social media. Consider the fact that the company is at the forefront of the electric car movement – which extols the valuation – then add in the star power of Elon Musk and you have a media buzz machine. Who needs to advertise?
